REFLECTION ON PHIL 4:6-7

Look to the Sky

We have certainly been living in interesting times, but as I sat in my backyard yesterday I noticed, for the first time in awhile, how beautiful my surroundings were. God has given us an incredible abundance of gifts, some of which we spend most of our time ignoring.

As we hole up for the next few weeks, it is probably worth taking some time out of the monotony to just go outside and stare at the sky. Seriously, just do that. Let time be slow, let yourself appreciate the beauty of the universe God created for you, and leave the anxieties and uncertainties behind.

St. Paul encourages us:

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.  (Philippians 4:6-7)

Good words in these times of uncertainty.

Be good. Be safe. And if you can't be safe, be good.

In faith,
Burk
