ELEMENTARY RELIGIOUS ED
Elementary RE is for all youth in 1st, 4th & 5th grades when they are not in Sacrament Preparation. The Diocese of Phoenix is a restored order Diocese, which means that 2nd graders prepare for First Reconciliation and both Confirmation and First Communion are ordinarily celebrated in 3rd grade (but are available for all subsequent grade levels).
So whether your child is waiting for their Sacrament journey to start in 2nd grade, or already completed all of the Sacraments of initiation and just want to go deeper in their faith, Religious Ed is the place for you!
Our Religious Education is a parish-led program that has an at-home component to empower parents in their role as the primary catechist of their children. Twice a month, your children come on-campus for a traditional catechetical class with our trained catechists. Our catechists then provide parents with lessons on the off-weeks to be done at home. Parents will receive comprehensive instruction with curriculum, content, and resources, to go with their kids’ workbooks, so they have prayers, activities, and discussion prompts to make each week awesome for them and their kids.
ALSO, Once a month, during an on-campus class is a SUMMA Night, so while the youth are doing their classes, we have a lecture series element for parents (and all adults) where you’ll have formation specifically for YOU by amazing speakers. Check out more on SUMMA here.
